E.L. Luther

Dean and E.L. Luther DisplayIn honor of the centennial, a cardboard cutout of Wisconsin’s first Cooperative Extension agent, E.L. Luther, is now available to be reserved for your events.

Meet E.L. Luther!

E. L. Luther’s story is one of true pioneering.  His career in Wisconsin started as the state’s first Cooperative Extension agricultural agent in 1912 and continued through his retirement as the Assistant State Leader of County Agents in 1938. He focused on sharing practical advice, sharing the latest university research and helping farmers and communities adopt the best industry practices of the time.

And though our first county colleague would turn 144 this year, we are glad he will be making appearances at events around the state. If you would like to register E.L. for an event, check his availability on the calendar and fill out the registration form. And after E.L.’s appearance, please share your photos from the event so we can add them to the Photo Gallery and feature them on our Facebook page!
