The 2011 State WACEC Conference, “Capitol Connections 2011” is drawing near.  Please follow the sidebar menu links on this web site for conference information, i.e. schedule, registration, hotel accommodations, etc.

Registration forms will be accepted until March 6, 2011.  Registrations postmarked after March 6th, will be charged a $15 late fee

Hotel accommodations: The location of our 2011 WACEC Conference is The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club, 1 West Dayton St., Madison, WI   53703.  Hotel reservations should be made no later than March 6th.  You are responsible for making your hotel reservations.  Please make your reservations by calling The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club, at 1(800)356-8293, and ask for the WACEC Group.  Rates are guaranteed at $70.00 for single and $110.00 double rooms. Reservations placed after March 6th will be subject to room availability, and rates are no longer guaranteed.

Final Preparation/Small Group Sessions: “Capitol Connections 2011” is the theme of the conference this year, and small group sessions will focus on making successful connections with your legislators. We have scheduled these sessions for Tuesday, March 29th, from 1:15 to 2 p.m.

Legislative Visits: Following the small group sessions, WACEC delegates and clientele (adults and youth), accompanied by UW-Extension educators, will travel to the Capitol building for a visit with local legislators. These visits will be about 30 minutes.  

Special Needs: If you or your spouse/guest have special needs, such as handicap accessibility please make the appropriate arrangements to help them navigate through the conference.

Auction: The conference includes a live and silent auction. Our goal is to have every county participate in the auction by donating at least one item.  Your donation can be something that reflects the ethnic heritage of your area or a traditional item that highlights your county’s industrial, business or recreational activities. Please note the 2011 WACEC Auction brochure and donation card(s) under “Event Materials” on the conference Website.

Registration Deadline: Your registration needs to be completed and forwarded with a check before March 6, 2011. Registrations postmarked after March 6th will be assessed a $15 late registration fee.

Vacation Planning: You may wish to take advantage of the many attractions available in Madison and the surrounding area before or after the conference. Please contact the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau at (608) 255-2537 with specific questions.
