Covers the basics about dairy goats for early 4-H members and grade school students. Topics covered include: breeds (Oberhasli, Saanen, Pygmy, Nubian, LaMancha and Toggenburg), sounds they make, feeding, packing goats, differences between males and females and milking procedures. Eight livestock judging practice classes help students improve their judging skills. Classes include market steers, Hereford heifers, performance Limousin heifers, market hogs, Duroc breeding gilts, market lambs, Southdown breeding ewes and market goats. Critiques of each class are provided by Ryan Rathmann, coach of six national champion livestock judging teams, followed by formal sets of oral reasons given by members of the 2008 record-breaking national champion Texas Tech livestock judging team.
